Palmeiras has lost interest in signing Nino, and Fluminense is negotiating the transfer of the player. The team has already signed Alexander Barboza for around R$ 20 million and will have ex-Botafogo available in the second half of the season. The technical commission of Abel Ferreira will have at their disposal: Gustavo Gómez, Murilo, Bruno Fuchs, Barboza, Benedetti, and Koné. Another factor that influenced the Palmeiras decision was the high price demanded by Zenit. The Brazilian club had already made an offer of 10 million euros (R$ 59.7 million at the current exchange rate) and had a verbal agreement with the player, but the Russian club wanted 20 million euros (almost R$ 120 million) to make a deal before the end of the season. Nino wants to return to Brazilian football for personal reasons, and Fluminense is negotiating to repatriate him. Zenit was the Russian champion, and this was one of the promises to release the defender. Fluminense is trying to lower the final price demanded by Zenit to conclude the deal. The defender played 244 games and scored 13 goals during his passage through the club between 2019 and 2023.
