Palmeiras celebrates a significant milestone in Brazilian football, with forward Vitor Roque being named the top under-23 prospect in the 2026 Campeonato Brasileiro, according to a recent study by the CIES Football Observatory. This distinction places the young talent from the Verdão at the top of a coveted list, highlighting the strength of Palmeiras's youth academy and its impact on the future of national sports.

The CIES research, reported by Globo.com, mapped the most promising under-23 talents worldwide and focused on domestic standouts, using recent performance to compile the national top 20. Vitor Roque surpassed Vasco defender Robert Renan and his Palmeiras teammate, midfielder Allan, who also features among the best. The Alviverde, in fact, demonstrates its excellence in athlete development by placing four players on the list.

In addition to Vitor Roque and Allan, Palmeiras has two other significant representatives in the ranking: right-back Agustín Giay and left-back Jefté. Botafogo also stands out with four names: Álvaro Montoro, Matheus Martins, Jordan Barrera, and Mateo Ponte, showcasing the quality of young talents in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro clubs.

The study was not limited to the Rio-São Paulo axis, including prospects from other regions of Brazil. Among them are Viery Fernandes from Grêmio, Victor Gabriel from Internacional, Román Gómez from Bahia, Lucas Ronier from Coritiba, Victor Hugo from Atlético-MG, and Keny Arroyo from Cruzeiro. The diversity of clubs on the list underscores the breadth of young talent in the Brasileirão.

Lucas Ronier of Coritiba received special attention, being the only player from Paraná in 12th position. At 21, he is enjoying his best spell, with seven goal contributions (three goals and four assists) in 17 games this season. CIES assessed eight areas of the game over the last six months, weighing minutes played, match importance, and league strength to determine the final ranking.

The list also features Breno Bidon and João Pedro of Corinthians, Maik Gomes of São Paulo, Ignacio Sosa of RB Bragantino, and Wallace Yan of Flamengo, completing the overview of young players poised to shine in Brazilian football. The rigorous CIES methodology ensures a deep analysis of each athlete's potential.
