Palmeiras won the Brazilian U20 championship on Tuesday (26), defeating Red Bull Bragantino at Allianz Parque. Among the protagonists of the campaign was 19-year-old defender Benedetti, who again drew attention not only for his consistency on the field but also for his speech after the conquest.
What happened?
Benedetti stands at 1.97m tall and has already played four games for Abel Ferreira's main squad. In an interview with the Nosso Palestra portal, the defender took advantage of the title celebration to reinforce his desire to establish himself among the professionals.
Why is this important for Palmeiras?
“It was a very special season. This title with the U20 is the result of a lot of work and the strength of the group. We dedicated ourselves a lot and I'm very happy to be a part of it. I'm very focused on my development in the professional team. Every opportunity I receive from Abel is a chance to show that I can contribute more“, said the defender in an interview with Nosso Palestra.
What comes next?
However, the focus on Palmeiras coexists with the reality of the European market. Barcelona has advanced in conversations to sign Benedetti and has already signaled a proposal of around 12 million euros (R$ 75.9 million), plus performance bonuses.

European interests
Barcelona's idea is to integrate the defender into the B team starting in 2026, preparing the ground for him to compete for a spot in the main squad. Despite the player's staff optimism, Palmeiras and the technical committee still show resistance to giving up the jewel, treated internally as one of the great promises of the alviverde base.
Palmeiras, which recently sold Thalys to Almería for R$ 37.9 million, continues to evaluate market possibilities but knows that a decision must be made by September 2, when the international transfer window closes.
